Munich, 11 November 2021 – Munich-based software development and consulting company mgm technology partners GmbH (mgm) has acquired 100 per cent of the shares in Clientis AG, a move that boosts the company’s ERP proficiency in SAP environments. Clientis AG specialises in creating solutions for SAP business processes. The company was founded 20 years ago and has offices in Moosburg near Munich and in Hamburg. The shares were sold by a group of shareholders and two Executive Board members, Miodrag Dick and Björn-Eric Friedsam, who will remain on the company’s board going forward. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
SAP process optimisation and development
Clientis AG’s team of experts specialises in optimising SAP processes in the system landscapes of large and medium-sized businesses. The company’s service offering also includes custom development, mobile app development and system updates. Clientis has proven success across a range of manufacturing industries, offering their expertise for improving existing processes throughout the entire supply chain, from product development, purchasing and production, to distribution and warehouse optimisation. Each project involves close collaboration between experts in development, analysis and consultation. The company has 60 employees, most of whom are based at the head office in Moosburg. Many have been with Clientis for a long time, as evidenced by the fact that the average length of service at the company exceeds ten years.
“One of our strategic decisions is to expand our range of services to include expertise in SAP and ERP solutions”, Hamarz Mehmanesh, co-founder and CEO of mgm explains. The ability of the systems developed by mgm to connect to SAP is now increasingly part of the contract for many customer projects involving business-critical applications. “So it only makes sense for us to quickly establish the relevant SAP expertise for our own A12 platform. For this reason, I am especially pleased that in our new colleagues at Clientis AG, we have not only found a team with this know-how, but one that is also compatible with us in terms of our approach to IT architecture and our value system.”
The future: SAP development and low code platform from a single source
Clientis AG’s core business is developing industry and customer-specific customised solutions within the SAP system family and goes beyond mere implementation projects. Clientis AG has established long-term partnerships with its clients and has worked with leading names in the retail, mechanical engineering, fashion, food and chemical industries. “Digitalisation will gain momentum across all sectors and in the long term will evolve in ways that are not yet foreseeable”, assures founder and CEO of Clientis, Miodrag Dick. He continues: “Increasingly, we see that supplementing powerful ERP systems with individual satellite systems could offer the best solution to all these challenges. mgm’s approach of model-based software development with a large low-code component systematically shifts IT development to the relevant departments, thereby making digitalisation more sustainable.”
Fellow board member Björn-Eric Friedsam adds: “In addition to well-known ERP applications, our customers can take advantage of mgm’s flexible developments if needed. And with almost 30 years of SAP experience, we bring our proven development and process consulting expertise to mgm customer projects in highly complex enterprise environments. By becoming part of the mgm family and joining their business platform, we can accomplish things both much more effectively and efficiently than say through a partnership, for example.”
Clientis’ current business with all its employees, customers and partners will remain and continue to operate independently. The company will be integrated into the mgm brand family as “mgm integration partners GmbH”. The company will thus bundle expertise in SAP development and process optimization in the business and public sectors.
